This enhanced new progressive Blueair 402 Smokestop Filter has a carbon filter with a honeycomb-type structure that improves the airflow and has hundreds of odor absorbing carbon pellets. It has three layers; a chipboard frame and outer layer, a pleat element and a carbon element. The 402 Smokestop Filter is designed to treat cigarette smoke, acid gases and ammonia. This uses a high content of granular carbon for increased efficiency. The new carbon blend of the filter is designed to capture more compounds and gases to lower the pressure point. Since the honeycomb design does not require a thick binding agent throughout, all the absorption pores are open for added filtration capacity. The higher activation level of the carbon pellets increases efficiency of the filter.
