Count on the power of the AirMedic to provide the cleanest possible air for your home or office. The AllerAir Air Medic Vocarb Air Purifier combines a cylindrical shape with 360 degree air intake to remove chemicals, particles, gases and odors on the very first pass. This means a consistent and fast-flow of clean, pure, breathable air. This air purifier features a powerful, five-stage filtration system based on 18 pounds of specially blended virgin VOCARB carbon mix that adsorb thousands of chemicals, Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs), gases, odors, mold mycotoxins and ozone and a medical grade HEPA filter. Its cylindrical shape with 360 degree air intake maximizes airflow, while casters provide easier maneuverability. Separate carbon and HEPA filters allows each to be changed independently. The Air Medic Vocarb also features a clean air delivery rate which matches or exceeds comparable models. The medical grade HEPA which removes 99.97 percent of all airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. AllerAir systems have been found to remove particles down to 0.01 microns with close to 99 percent efficiency the standards of an EN 1822 certified filter.
Air Flow and Your AllerAir Air Purifier We've noticed over the years that clients are very particular when it comes to using their AllerAir unit. Some like to run it 24/7, others only at night, some like to run it on high for a few hours then leave it on low for the rest of the day. So is there a science to choosing your air flow rate? We took this question to our technical department and here's what we learned:
Particles: Technically speaking, dust, pollen, hair and other airborne particles actually respond well to a higher setting. That's because the air is drawn-in at a faster rate which make the particles "smack" into the fibrous web of the HEPA filter with greater force. This increases the chance that they'll get stuck in the HEPA. Using the high setting for a few hours may be an excellent "quick fix" strategy if you've just finished brushing your pet or are cleaning out a dusty space, but our technical expert was quick to point out that over the long term it's just as effective to keep your unit on and running on low. This will provide a continuous flow of air that will help keep the air fresh.
Chemicals and Odors: For chemical and odor concerns there is a definite consensus ??? low is the way to go. That's due to the specific nature of the activated carbon used in AllerAir air purifiers. Activated carbon contains millions of tiny pores and fissures that trap chemicals, gases and odors. The longer these pollutants are forced to "hang around" in the carbon bed, the better chance they have of being adsorbed. When you select the low speed, the air passes at a slower rate through the carbon filter, therefore giving the pollutants "dwell" time allowing them to be adsorbed more efficiently. This process is also helped along by AllerAir's deeper carbon beds.
Particles, Chemicals and Odors: For a general improvement in air quality it's best to run the unit continuously on low. This ensures that you always have a constant flow of clean air. If you're concerned about energy costs, you'll be happy to know that most of our residential units draw the same energy as a 40 watt light bulb! That means even with 24-hour use it only costs pennies a day to operate!
